Embarking onto the Unknown Waters of 2013

Many thanks to you all for your help last week as I pondered what blogging would "look like" this year.  I think you all supplied me enough blogpost fodder to last all year through!

I'm going to continue to post when I can and that could be less in 2013 than it was in 2012.  I am so thankful for each of you and pray that this year the Lord will "fill you with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God."
Col. 1:9, 10

I launch my bark on the unknown waters of this year,
with Thee, O Father as my harbour,
Thee, O Son, at my helm,
Thee O Holy Spirit, filling my sails.

Give me Thy grace to sanctify me,
Thy comforts to cheer,
Thy wisdom to teach,
Thy right hand to guide,
  Thy counsel to instruct,
Thy law to judge,
  Thy presence to stabilize.

May Thy fear be my awe,
Thy triumphs my joy.
Length of days does not profit me
except the days are passed in Thy presence,
  in Thy serviceto Thy glory.

Give me a grace that precedes, follows, guides, sustains,
sanctifies, aids every hour,
that I may not be one moment apart from Thee,
but may rely on Thy Spirit
  to supply every thought,
speak in every word,
  direct every step,
  prosper every work,
build up every mote of faith,
and give me a desire
 to show forth Thy praise;
  testify Thy love,
  advance Thy kingdom.

We just gave this book to our Mom for Christmas. I love this prayer.

It's an excellent book, yes! Should be in every Christian's library, IMO :)
